Who we are
WinDeck is made by an independent developer based in Malaysia (“we” in this policy). We are responsible for the personal data described here. Contact us about privacy at vellannadarajan@yahoo.com.
The short version
- Your tasks, notes, money, history, and settings stay on your PC.
- The WinDeck app has no analytics, tracking, or advertising. This website counts visits without cookies.
- It goes online only for licence and update checks and for features you use, and each of those talks to its provider directly, not through us.
- We never sell personal data.
Data that stays on your PC
Everything you put into WinDeck is stored in its data folder on your PC: tasks, habits, goals, notes, calendar events, focus and screen-time history, clipboard items, projects, bookmarks, Finance records, and settings. Notes, clipboard items, Finance, and the keys you add for connected accounts are encrypted with a key that Windows protects for your user account. We cannot see any of it.
Screen time is off until you turn it on. It then records which apps you used and for how long; it does not record window titles, web addresses, or what is on screen.
Backups are files you save and keep yourself, protected with your password. Uninstalling WinDeck deletes its data from that PC.
Some features bring other people’s personal data onto your PC, such as the customer names and email addresses Sales shows from your store accounts. That data comes straight from your accounts to your PC, and we never see it. You are responsible for it: use it lawfully and only for your own business.
What WinDeck sends online
Every connection goes from your PC straight to the provider listed. Like any internet request, each one also shows the provider your IP address. Each provider handles what it receives under its own privacy policy.

Opening a news story, a bookmark, a project’s website, or the customer portal opens it in your web browser, where that website’s own privacy policy applies.
When you buy WinDeck
Dodo Payments sells WinDeck on our behalf as the merchant of record. It collects your name, email address, billing address, and payment details, takes the payment, handles tax, and emails your licence key and download. Dodo Payments’ privacy policy applies to that. We receive the order details: your name, email address, country, what you bought, and your licence key and its activations. We use them to provide your licence, help you, give refunds, and keep the records tax law requires. We never see your card details.
This website
This website is hosted by Vercel, which keeps short-term server logs (such as IP address, browser, and pages requested) to run and protect the service.
We count visits to this website with Umami Cloud, so we can see which pages people read. For each visit it records the page, the website that sent you here, your browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language, and country. It does not use cookies, does not store your IP address, and cannot tell who you are. It never sees anything after the “?” in an address, and it does not run on the confirmation page described below. Visits are not counted inside the WinDeck app.
After you pay, Dodo Payments returns you to a confirmation page whose address includes your licence key; we use it only to show you that page, and we do not store it.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. Dodo Payments’ checkout page sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy. The WinDeck app keeps its settings, such as its appearance, on your PC.
When you contact us
If you email us or send feedback from WinDeck, we keep your messages, and any diagnostic report you choose to include, to answer you and improve WinDeck. A diagnostic report contains technical details such as the WinDeck and Windows versions and recent error messages, with email addresses, keys, and your Windows user name removed. It never contains notes, tasks, or other content.
When you send a message as Other, which is where refunds are requested, this website uses the activation’s ID to look up your purchase in Dodo Payments. It adds the payment’s ID, the buyer’s name and email address, the purchase date, and whether it was already refunded to the email we receive, so we can find your purchase. Nothing from that lookup is sent back to WinDeck.
To limit spam, this website counts messages from each IP address in its memory. The count is never saved and is cleared when the server restarts.
When you contact us, write from the email address you bought WinDeck with, so we can find your purchase. Never send us your licence key; we will never ask for it.
Why we use your data
We use personal data only to sell and license WinDeck, deliver updates, give support and refunds, prevent misuse of licence keys, keep the website running, and meet legal and tax obligations. Under the EU and UK GDPR, our legal bases are performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in securing WinDeck and preventing licence abuse, complying with the law, and your consent for the optional diagnostic report and Screen Time, both of which you turn on yourself.
Who else handles it
- Dodo Payments: takes payments, handles tax, and issues and checks licence keys. It holds your order, your licence key and its activations, and the download it emails you.
- Vercel: hosts this website. It handles the requests the website and the app send it, and keeps short-term server logs.
- Umami: counts visits to this website, without cookies or IP addresses.
- GitHub: hosts the update installers. It sees the download request and your IP address when WinDeck installs an update.
- Resend: delivers messages sent from WinDeck to us by email, including your email address and any diagnostic report.
- Our email provider: holds support emails and our replies.
These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under their own safeguards for international transfers. We share data with authorities only when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Support emails are kept while we help you and for up to two years afterwards, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Data on your PC stays until you delete it or uninstall WinDeck.
After we delete something, copies may stay for a limited time in our email provider and in our providers’ logs and backups. Dodo Payments keeps its own purchase and licence records under its own privacy policy.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email vellannadarajan@yahoo.com to use any of these rights.
Before acting on a request, we may check it comes from you, for example by asking you to write from the email address you bought WinDeck with. We may keep what the law requires us to keep, such as tax records, even if you ask us to delete it.
The data on your PC is entirely in your control. We cannot see it, so we cannot send you a copy or delete it for you. You can delete it in WinDeck, save a copy with Settings → Backup, or uninstall WinDeck to remove it all.
Security
WinDeck encrypts sensitive data on your PC, checks the signature of every update before installing it, and talks to providers only over encrypted connections. This website keeps its keys on the server, checks every request it receives, and limits how often messages can be sent. No method is perfect, so please keep your PC and Windows account secure. If you think your licence key has leaked, tell us straight away.
Children
WinDeck is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you think a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If WinDeck starts handling data differently, we will update this page before the change takes effect and change the date at the top.
